Health's Food Awards recently released - The Best New Eats of 2011.  While the list was very extensive, we decided to choose our top 10 favorites!  See below for Tribeca Event’s 10 quick and easy health foods picks of 2011.

Purely Elizabeth Ancient Grain Granola Cereal in Pumpkin Fig. This low-sugar (only 6 grams) pick scored our vote for its fiber-rich puffed amaranth and quinoa flakes and fiber-and-omega-3-loaded chia seeds.  $7.99 for 12.5 oz; select whole foods markets and purelyelizabeth.com

Post Selects Great Grains Crunchy Pecans.  We like this cereal because of its surprisingly generous amount of pecans, plus whole-wheat flakes and rolled oat clusters, which serve up 35 grams of whole grains plus 5 grams of fiber per serving.  $4 for 16-oz box; grocery stores.

Horizon Organic Lowfat Chocolate Milk Plus DHA Omega-3. We also love that this bone-builder is organic, and fortified with DHA omega-3 fatty acids, so you’re boosting your mood and memory to boot. $4.29 for half gallon; grocery stores.

Honest Ade 0 Calorie Classic Lemonade.  It’s a sweet lemonade with zero calories and no artificial sweeteners!  $1.79 for 16-oz bottle; grocery stores nationwide.

Kashi Basil Pesto Pizza.  This 240-calorie (for 1/3 of the pie) offering is definitely a favorite and it’s healthier than most frozen pies, with protein and lots of fiber.  $5.99; grocery stores

Luna Chocolate Dipped Coconut.  Great for an afternoon pick-me-up!  Coconut and dark chocolate make this taste like a macaroon, plus you get nutrients that most women need more of.   $1.39; grocery stores.

Cedar’s Natural Wheat Pita Chips.  We agree that this chip is the real deal: Whole-wheat flour is its very first ingredient!  $2.99 for 6-oz bag; grocery stores.

Cedar’s Mediterranean Artichoke Spinach & Cheese Authentic Greek Yogurt Dip.  MMMMMMmmm (just 80 per serving). Try dunking fresh veggies in it!  $2.69 for 11 oz; grocery stores.

Stonyfield Organic Oikos Superfruits .  Organic pomegranate juice and açai and raspberry purees combine for a taste treat that’s tart and sweet.  $1.99 for 5.3-oz cup; select grocery stores.

Barney Butter Almond Butter Snack Packs.  A perfect snack for when you’re on the go.  Don’t worry – it’s mostly good-for-you-fats. $10.08 for box of 24; grocery stores.
